Tabby creates swirl like markings which cover the body which you can find on animals such as cats or other small mammals. Even though this marking can cover the entire body, you can choose to have it covering part of the body, however the area must be noticeable, i.e. cover the entire legs and hips/shoulders, head and neck, ribs and abdomen areas.
Tabby Marking Style
Texture:

Colouration and interactions with other markings:
Tabby must always make darker than the base coat.
Should you have Dual Tone, this will give you an option to have an obvious blend of colours or you can mark a lighter shade appear on top of the darker areas you have drawn for the Tabby marking. Making sure that there are no areas where the lighter colour is not surrounded by the darker shade beneath,
You will see a marking restriction labelled Tabby in the import files, this is in there so you can see how you can apply a gentle gradient to the tabby marking if you wish to do so, however it must follow the gradient direction of the restriction.
With Tabby and Dual Tone, you can also make the tabby like markings appear more banded like a python's markings.
If you have Spectral and Dual Tone you can do any of the options here, but on the lighter section, you can add a gradient or make the lighter colour to become brighter.
Things to avoid:
- Making Tabby look too similar to stripes that it would be classed as Defier. This will automatically make admins request you to make amendments.
- When making markings like the python banded marking with spectral making the lighter area bright, do not make specific patterns that it looks too similar to the Crystal Marking.
Tabby and Reversal Markings
Texture:

Colouration and interactions with other markings:
Tabby and Reversal will ONLY change the direction of the marking to appear more horizontal than vertical along the body.
The same rule of the slight gradient being allowed for this would apply to the effect of Reversal affecting Tabby.
