Exactly as it sounds, it creates the fun marking which you can create to match the patterns you can find on African Wild Dogs. However there are also other choices in which you can make to design the painted look to be a bit different should you have other markings in your Mythikan's geno.
Rather than being stuck together like merle with the colours, you can be very creative with this and have the different colours placed randomly without them needing to be attached to one another. See below for some examples.

This marking you do not need Dual Tone to make the darker and lighter layer.
Ideally, you would need to make the darker colour be more of the base whilst the lighter colours act as the cherry on top.
You can only have one darker layer and one lighter layer. To have more you would require Dual Tone.

Colouration and interactions with other markings:
If you have Reversal and / or Spectral, you can make the marking appear more like ink spread over an area which can dilute and lighten an area of creating what would look like Ink or watercolour like markings over the body
You may have very diluted areas making this appear as a maximum of 4 colours in the ink'ed area.
