Behaviour and Temperment

It is said that when Mythika was under a self inflicted war with other realms and planets in the universe, humans unlocked a gateway from hell to Mythika, granting acess for Hellhounds to wonder into the vast Realm World. Naturally, humans wanted to control these beasts and tame them for their own personal use and to satisfy their greed for power, although they were not expecting the hellhound's defiance and temperment, so they domesticated them as much as they could until their nature calmed and all aggression subsided, turning into one of the calmest creatures you can find within the Realm world.

Since the Ren'Shee braught peace back to the lands after banishing humans from the Realm world, the Velox grew accustomed to their new home as the Ren'Shee gave them a second chance to live freely within the realms considering how they changed through domestication. They started to form their own packs and live in dens, similar to a pack of wolves. This progressed thier socialbilities and grew more empathetic towards one another until their formations protected the weak, sick, elderly or children and mothers. As the years passed, they become one of the most loyal and social creatures known on Mythika.

Diet and Feeding Behaviour

Despite thier size and appearance, most mistake their diets as being they hunt large creatures, when actually they prefer a much smaller prey like small mammels and reptiles. They can only be found large carcuss; due to thier scavenging behaviour, however due to more dangerous creatures in Mythika, they don't stick around abandoned carcuss; for long periods of tim. Similar to snakes and other preditors, Velox will tear peices of meat from the carcus, or if small enough, will then just swallow the food whole.They do not have any back teeth as their teeth and faccial muscles are enough to kill and aid them to eat.

Some may get concerned about their mouths due to majority of the time being open, however they have special glands in thier mouth which prevents their tongue or throat from dehydration. They are capable of closing their mouths, however its reare they do to provide their stomach and lungs with more oxygen than what you'd expecct animals to require. Not only for this reason, Velox have more acid's within thier digestive system than any other creature to help them digest their food properly after swallowing whole or larger chunks of food.

Senses

Ever since the hellhounds cam to Mythika, they have adjusted to the environment and their senses have hieghtened in their eyesight and sense of smell. Even though Velox now have acute sense of smell and sight, it is still limited to a 5-8 mile radius around them, anything beyond this distance fades into a blur. They don't have a strong night vision but with enough light from the moon, they can make out shapes and any creatures that have light reflectors in their eyeballs giving off a shine, they will also be able to see this clearly as well.

Through evalution, their paw pads never really adapted, causing them to be sensative, making it easier for them to feel vibrations in the ground for their prey. This does cause a problem for them when the tempreture is hot as it scorches their paws and they have to heal them when they can and can take days or weeks for their paws to heal. So if you go to hot places, it is always advised for them to wear their paw protecters.

Coat

Through evolution, like their ancestors of hellhounds that were only flesh without fur, scales and all else, There are still some traces of sphynx Velox, but not as common as thier bodies adapted to the weather and environments found in the Realm world. Like hedgehogs, they can harden their fur as a method and act for protection from harsh weather and anything that is trying to hunt them, although it is not always bombproof and can't save their lives from everything, making them very cautious around other creatures.

Intellegence

Even thought they have a bit of intellegance, they are never one minded nor do they rely independantly on their judgements/opinions. They grew to appreciate everyone else's opinion and thoughts, taking every possible option into account and run over all the risks before making a final action call so they don't have to run into too much trouble. More than often they listen to those who are older than anyone else due to experience and wisdom, valuing that over anything else. That being said though, they can tell right from wrong if a situation causes them to make an impulse decision and have a short period of time for them to get out of any trouble htey might be in and act straight away. 

Some take advantage of their level of intellagence, treating them like anyone would with their pet dogs and get them to do tricks, even though they are not technically built for being people's pets and doing tricks to entertain their owners. Just don't expect them to be obedient all the time when doing this as their patience and tollerence can be quite thin and will have a tendency to snap back.
